Your Council

Values

We support young people by educating them about diversity and values, advocating for minorities and promoting a safe city.

What do we do?

We encourage foundation values and an appreciation of diversity in our youth. We also collaborate with the other teams to address other issues like civic pride, intergenerational events, family, faith and diversity.

We do this by:

  • Advocating on behalf of those who are unable to
  • Upholding the rights of young people
  • Maintaining relationships with advocacy and civil rights groups
  • Planning events, projects and programmes in support of Youth Infusion values

We’re responsible for:

Advocacy

  • Groups can approach the values team for advocacy support in council
  • Finding ways for those without a voice to be heard

Safety and support

  • Ensuring young people’s civic and personal rights
  • Working with community groups to ensure the safety of young people
  • Supporting less fortunate or disempowered young people

Community values

  • Ensuring Youth Infusion values are in line with community values
  • Supporting initiatives that promote these values
