Food Control Plans

The Food Control Plan has been developed to provide food businesses with a set of procedures and records that can be tailored to help them manage food safety and suitability in their business.

What is the Food Control Plan?

The Food Control Plan has been developed to provide food businesses with a set of procedures and records that can be tailored to help them manage food safety and suitability in their business.

How you can volunteer?

Food businesses that choose to use a Food Control Plan (as described on the template we provide) must have it approved by Hutt City Council and are exempt from the requirements of the Food Hygiene Regulations 1974. The Food Control Plan sets the rules for how the business will meet food safety obligations.

We are responsible for ensuring an operator's approved food safety programme is the right fit for their business and that it is being followed.

For more details on food control plans, please get in touch with us or alternatively visit the Food Control Plans page on the New Zealand Food Safety Authority (NZFSA) website.
