Applying for community engagement funding

Community Boards/Community Committees provide funding for projects/activities which support their local community plan that directly benefit the community.

Things to consider before you apply

Have you:

  • Read all the background information and criteria?
  • Made sure your event/activity is eligible for funding?
  • Got all the right information available?
  • Observed the deadline?

Make an application

Download the application form online or pick up a form at your local library, from the council building on Laings Road or from community board or community committee members.

Fill in the community engagement funding application form (PDF 63kb) and send to:

How long will the decision process take?

It may take up to eight weeks from the receipt of your application to be notified of the outcome. Your application will be assessed in terms of how well it meets the fund’s purpose.

If your application is successful, you will need to give us an invoice for the approved amount in order to receive funding. Have a look at a sample invoice (PDF 35kb).

Possible tax obligations

Withholding tax may be deducted from funding that provides a service to the council and falls within the activities listed on the back of the Inland Revenue Department’s IR330 tax declaration form.
